Race Rules
General
The race has a scottishathletics permit and will be run under the UK Athletics Rules for Hill Running.
Safety
As the race route finishes at over 4000ft, all runners must carry a waterproof/windproof top and leggings. We suggest a bum-bag is the easiest way of carrying the kit. The route will be marked and marshaled, if you drop out, you must report your retirement to a race marshal. In the event of inclement weather, the race organizers reserve the right to shorten the route as they see fit.
Litter
The race passes through some of Scotland’s finest countryside. Please do not drop any litter on the race route, please keep it in your bumbag and dispose of it in a bin later. This includes drinks cups from the drinks station. There will be an opportunity to deposit the cups at the drinks stations.
Age groups
The Senior Cairngorm Mountain Run is open to runners born before 1989.
The Junior Cairngorm Mountain Run is open to runners born within the years 1989 to 1994 inclusive. Please note, male runners born within the years 1989 to 1992 inclusive who want to be considered for selection to the WMRT team should take part in the separate Junior Man Trial Race (See World Trophy Trial Section).
There are no races for runners born after 1994.
